We are exploring the amazing town of Skopelos and slowly warming up in the studio this week. There is so much to take in and so many places to see here.
Here are several images from the past few days: the streets, the studio, sketching in the outdoors, the beautiful views.
We finally arrived in Skopelos and are soaking it all in. It's a gorgeous island with an amazing view, people and culture.
"Skopelos is a Greek island in the western Aegean Sea. Skopelos is one of several islands which comprise the Northern Sporades island group, which lies east of the Pelion peninsula on the mainland and north of the island of Euboea."
Traveling to Skopelos is not easy. In order to get to the island we had to make a stop at a neighboring town- Skiathos. We got there by a small plane and got to explore the charming coastal town.
"Skiathos, a Greek island in the northwest Aegean Sea, is part of the Sporades archipelago. It’s best known for its beaches and buzzing, youth-driven nightlife scene. The action centers around Skiathos Town, where bars and restaurants spill onto sidewalks along the old harbor and Papadiamanti street, the main pedestrian thoroughfare. Between town and the airport are many open-air, waterfront clubs."
On my way to Skopelos, Greece for an artist residency I had to made sure to make a stop at Athens. This city is charming, epic and incredibly inspiring. I wanted to document my journey and share my experiences that will lead to new work.
